Deep Learning-Based 3D Reconstruction of the Pelvis

This project turns MRI scans of the pelvic area into a 3D model. I am training a machine learning model that takes those scans and outputs a point cloud, so the anatomy can be viewed in VR. The idea is to give doctors a clearer visualization, which could also help with surgery.

Responsibilities

I am building the machine learning model and the pipeline from MRI scans to a point cloud, with the aim of loading that 3D model into VR. I also read papers, keep notes, and write up results. I spend about 10 hours a week on this as part of the University Scholar Program.
